An Oct. 4 decree by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan awarded Russian President Dmitry Medvedev with the Order of Glory for strengthening the traditionally friendly ties between the Armenian and Russian peoples, deepening and expanding strategic allied relations between the two countries, as well as for his personal contribution to peace and international security, the Armenian president’s press service reported on Wednesday morning.
The Order of Glory (also referred to as the Medal of Glory) is awarded for outstanding contribution to strengthening and developing interstate relations, peace and international security, human rights and fundamental freedoms, and for activities aimed at enhancing and developing economic ties, and preserving spiritual and cultural values.
The Order of Glory is Armenia’s highest state award, traditionally given to foreign nationals.
