Census in Armenia Begins Today, Will Cost 2.5 Billion Drams

Armenia’s state census, which will take 9 days (from Oct. 12–21), began today.

Note, the district census taker upon knocking on your door must present an official certificate, but if, in any case, homeowners do not wish to open their doors to strangers, they can ask a police official to come to their home to confirm the identity and legitimacy of the census worker.

For the 2011 census, 364 managers and assistants, 2,425 instructor-scrutineers and 12,124 census takers have been appointed.

The 2011 census will cost 2.5 billion drams (about $6.6 million USD).
