Armenia Government Opts to Provide Free Firewood for 60,000 Families

The Armenian government adopted a decision at its meeting today to give permission to families in settlements in the immediate vicinity of forests to harvest firewood residue for non-production purposes.

It is expected that the government decision will provide free firewood residue for the almost 60,000 families living in towns and villages that are adjacent to forests. Previously, wood residue was sold for 1,200 drams for each cubic meter.
