Future Armenian Doctor Stella Kirakosyan Crowned ‘Miss Eurasia’ in Russia

Stella Kirakosyan was named winner of the Miss Eurasia beauty contest which took place in Russia. Participants from former Soviet Union states Armenia, Russia, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Uzbekistan participated in the contest which was held for the first time in the Far East. The contest was held in the Hollywood night club, where, as reported by Yerkramas, a newspaper and website by Armenians in Russia, a mass of young people, photographers and diasporan communities from different ethnicities were gathered.

Contenders for the title of Miss Eurasia had to compete in 6 different categories: traditional “business card” (first impression), video performance, talent contest, skill-testing contest, national dress and evening dress. The alloted time for all this was 4 hours.

Second place went to Azerbaijan’s contestant Sabina Giyanova, third place went to Uzbekistan’s contest Shakhnoza Motayeva, while first place — and a diamond necklace — was awarded to Stella Kirakosyan, representing Armenia. Kirakosyan completed an internship at the medical academy and is now studying to be a medical therapist.

“When I was invited to participate in this contest, I thought ‘Why not?'” said Kirakosyan. “I have experience in participating in such contests, but still I was somewhat doubtful. Many thanks to family and friends who helped me and went along to rehearsals, and thanks to the community which entrusted me with the honor to represent all Armenian girls. This was a very important victory for me. But I’m not going to rest on my laurels. The main thing now is to finish school, in order to help people become healthier.”
