Armenian Embassy Opens in Czech Republic

On Nov. 22, Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian and First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Karel Schwarzenberg officially inaugurated the Armenian Embassy in Prague on Nov. 22. Present at the opening ceremony were members of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, other ambassadors in Prague and members of the local Armenian community, reads a statement issued by Armenia’s foreign affairs ministry.

Schwarzenberg congratulated those gathered on the occasion, emphasizing that Armenia’s decision to establish diplomatic representation in the country will bring about a new charge in Armenian-Czech cooperation.

During their meeting, the two foreign ministers discussed making use of the potential for trade and economic cooperation, taking steps to encourage investments, and stimulating cultural exchanges.

Nalbandian outlined the Nagorno Karabakh peace process to his Czech counterpart, and both agreed that there is no other alternative to resolving the conflict than through peaceful negotiations.
