Belgian National to Undergo Medical Examination in Yerevan

Detained on Nov. 28 and released on Nov. 30, Belgian national Luc Wadewale still hasn’t had his passport returned to him. Speaking to Epress.am, the Yerevan resident said on Thursday he went to see the investigator, who gave him a written notice to undergo a medical examination.

According to Wadewale, he only found out on Nov. 30 why he was detained.

“For two days I didn’t know why they were keeping me. Because in Belgium, it’s normal — if a child has a problem, the parent goes to the school to look into the matter. I haven’t done anything illegal. There was no jostle,” he said.

Note, Wadewale and his wife, Gayane Vardanyan, on Nov. 30 went to the park with the Martiros Saryan statue where a number of other Armenian National Congress supporters were gathered.

Recall, Wadewale was detained after an incident at his daughter’s school in which a photo of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan was broken.
