Mock Trial: Advantages and Disadvantages to Integrating Georgia’s Javakheti Region

A public hearing titled “The Integration of Javakheti Region: Advantages and Disadvantages” will be held in the Georgian city of Akhalkalaki on Dec. 10. As reported by NewCaucasus.com, Samtskhe-Javakheti Consumers Union chairperson Armen Darbinian will talk about the positive aspects and outcomes of the process of civil and socioeconomic integration of the region.

Javakheti Association of Economists chairperson Armen Farmanian will issue a report that will outline the shortcomings and disadvantages of such a process. The hearing will be moderated by specialist with the local Akhalkalaki administration Nana Beroyan.

The event will take place within the framework of “Mock Caucasian Court of Human Rights and Civil Hearings on Democracy for Caucasus Countries” supported by the National Endowment for Democracy and organized by the South Caucasus Center for Civic Hearings.
