Former president of the Republic of Armenia Robert Kocharian (pictured) met with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan at his home recently, report local daily Joghovurd’s sources close to Kocharian.
According to the paper, Kocharian told Sargsyan he won’t interfere in the upcoming parliamentary elections on the condition that the ruling Republican Party of Armenia wins a “clean” majority. If Sargsyan is unable to form a “clean” parliamentary majority, Kocharian will return to politics, offering his candidacy in the 2013 presidential election.
Kocharian also reportedly persuaded Sargsyan to resign if he loses.
