US State Department Spokesperson Recalled Armenia and Turkey, Forgetting France

At a Dec. 22 press briefing, US Department of State Deputy Spokesperson Mark Toner gave a very brief answer to a journalist’s question on the bill making genocide denial illegal passed by the French National Assembly on Thursday.

“Just very quickly. Yeah. Our views on this issue have been expressed before. They haven’t changed. We continue to support normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia,” he said, not quite addressing the issue or referring to France-Turkey relations.
