Four Facebook administrators who organized a virtual beauty contest have been arrested in Iran, reports The Voice of Russia, citing Liberty Radio. They are accused of spreading “corruption and shamelessness”.
The detained, 2 men and 2 women, addressed Facebook users with a request to upload their photos on the website. The winners of the beauty contest for men and women were to receive a monetary prize.
By the time the four were detained, 25,000 Iranian people had already published their photos on the social networking site.
Although the access to Facebook in the Islamic republic is blocked, many internet users manage to find a way around ban by using special software.
