Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law, or OEK) is actively preparing for the parliamentary elections and has very serious ambitions, said head of the OEK parliamentary faction Heghine Bisharyan, speaking to journalists in the capital today.
“We cannot compare our might today with our rating three years ago. Your votes are going to be much more this time — though this might elicit the jealousy of some [political] parties. In this, I don’t differentiate between opposition and government forces: envy doesn’t recognize such categories,” she said.
Nevertheless, the Orinats Yerkir MP refused to discuss her party’s campaign platform, saying such issues will be discussed at the party congress on Mar. 3. Bisharyan did mention, however, that party leader Artur Baghdasaryan will be at the top of the party list, but he will not have a seat in parliament. There will be a unique characteristic in the OEK party list this year, she said — the party is going to try to include as few as possible businessmen in its list. According to Bisharyan, all businessmen want to get into politics and many have contacted OEK requesting to be included in their party list.
