Journalist and host of the talk show Urvagits on Kentron TV Petros Khazaryan (pictured) will be nominated as a candidate in the May parliamentary elections. Ghazaryan confirmed this news to local daily Aravot.
The journalist said he discussed this matter with Prosperous Armenia party leader Gagik Tsarukyan (who owns Kentron TV) as well as with others in the party. During these discussions, it was decided that Ghazaryan would be nominated on the party’s proportional list.
“Armenia is confronted with challenges and in this situation, the National Assembly simply has a particular role. This [the election] is very important for me because, I think, in this case we’ll be electing not a regular National Assembly, but we are electing our future,” he told Aravot.
Another local daily, Chorrord Inqnishkhanutyun (“Fourth Self-Authority”), citing its sources, reported that Ghazaryan will be on the top ten slots of the Prosperous Armenia proportional list.
