Former International Boxing Federation (IBF) middleweight champion Arthur Abraham (33-3, 27 KO’s) will be headlining a Sauerland promotion event at the Sparkasse Arena in Kiel in the north of Germany on Mar. 31. It appears that Abraham has given up hope to go down to middleweight and will continue as a super middleweight where he unsuccessfully participated in the Super Six Tournament.
Who Abraham will fight is yet unknown, but the press release from Sauerland claims that this will be the final test before gunning for the world title shot, reports Boxing Scene.
This will likely be another level opponent like Abraham’s last fight on Jan. 14 against Pablo Oscar Natalio Farias, reports Boxing News 24. If he can win his next tune-up fight, there’s talk of Abraham being matched against WBA World middleweight champion Felix Sturm in what would be a huge German-based fight.
