Occupy Mashtots Park Activist Halts Hunger Strike

The Occupy Mashtots Park activist and blogger, Bayandur Pogosyan, who yesterday declared a hunger strike to protest the construction of retail shops in the downtown Yerevan park, decided to halt his hunger strike several hours later, after Yerevan Deputy Police Chief Karen Movsisyan promised that construction would not resume before the end of this week.

This news was conveyed to Epress.am by environmental activist Ruzanna Grigoryan.

She added, however, that the police officer’s promise cannot be considered official, so the activists “are not terminating their fight to save the park from kiosks.”
