Two people died and five were wounded in an armed incident between militants and police in the city of Ganja in Azerbaijan, News.az reports.
APA reports that one law-enforcement officer was killed and three were wounded during the incident. From the opposite side, one died and two were wounded. The killed militant had explosives and therefore the experts were called to the site to deactivate it. The operation is not finished yet.
The body of the killed officer and the wounded were brought to Baku by helicopter.
Ganja City Main Police Office said that the Ministry of National Security launched an operation yesterday at 4 am against the armed group, which reportedly was preparing to commit a terrorist attack in Ganja.
Spokesperson for the National Security Ministry Arif Babayev confirmed the fact. No details were given.
