Lecturers at the State Engineering University of Armenia (SEUA, or Polytechnic) will continue to receive the same salary during the 2013-2014 academic year as they did in the previous year, said RA Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan yesterday.
Recall, SEUA rector Ara Avetisyan reduced staff wages, which had resulted in a wave of protest among lecturers and professors.
The education minister also stressed that the lower salaries received in September will be recalculated, and the new mechanisms for calculating salaries can be implemented only from the 2014-2015 academic year, when the proposals made by the commission established by the rector will be approved.
