MP Nikol Pashinyan on Tuesday visited the Hospital for Detainees, and the Vardashen and Nubarashen penitentiaries, where he met with 13 people, who were detained on Nov. 5, 2013, including the organizer of the march, Shant Harutyunyan.
Pashinyan, on his Facebook page, wrote that he was unable to meet with those arrested in this case; he managed to speak with only Anushavan Grigoryan , who, according to explanations by Nubarashen penitentiary management, was moved to a psychiatric clinic in order to undergo a court-appointed examination.
"Shant Harutyunyan was exhausted after a long hunger strike and is in the process of recovery. A significant majority of those at Nubarashen are kept in crowded cells, where the number of detainees are greater than the number of beds.
"Liparit Petrosyan and Albert Margaryan need to be examined by a doctor.
"On the day of the arrest, the investigative body seized the glasses of Vardan Vardanyan, who is being kept at Vardashen penitentiary, and, despite requests, has not yet returned them. Despite an appeal, till today Vardan Vardanyan has not been appointed an attorney," wrote Pashinyan.
