A new clash might erupt between National Assembly President Hovik Abrahamyan and head of the Heritage Party's parliamentary faction Zaruhi Postanjyan, who is in the US on a study program since January, reports local daily Hraparak.
The newspaper reports that the MP doesn't have the right to be absent for 5-6 months, and the parliamentary speaker can easily "seek revenge" with the Heritage Party faction leader.
"Only the National Assembly president has the exclusive monopoly of considering Postanjyan's absence respectable [and thus allowable], if the MP writes an appeal once every two months, asking that her absence be considered respectable," reports Hraparak.
The newspaper reports that Postanjyan, in turn, can recall Prosperous Armenia Party faction leader Gagik Tsarukyan's example, who has not been present at meetings for months at a time and his absence has been considered respectable.
