No person in charge has yet been included in the criminal case of Lilit Nalbandyan, who fell into a coma after giving birth at the Vanadzor Medical Center in May and has been on life support at the Erebuni Medical Center since. Till today, the National Bureau of Expertises is drawing out the results of the forensic re-examination, Lilit's husband, Artak Barseghyan, told Epress.am.
Having found the first examination to be unprofessional and lacking and its conclusions doubtful and unreliable, Barseghyan asked the investigator for a re-examination. He also expressed a desire to be present during the forensic examination and to bring his own expert.
"A re-examination was appointed on Sept. 25; the documents were entered on Oct. 8, but till today a commission has not been formed, and we're convinced that the doctors' fault will be clear after that. They're just delaying it, not being concerned about the fact that we don't have time. A person's life depends on them, the hopes of saving her decreasing by the second, and much depends on that answer," said Lilit's husband, adding that by knowing the true causes of her illness perhaps it will be possible to save his wife.
According to Barseghyan, since Jan. 10 till today all their appeals to the National Bureau of Expertises have received one answer: "The results will be known next week."
"About 3 days ago I went to the Ministry of Healthcare; I went to the deputy minister, I called the head of the department dealing with the case, and he says, there are documents missing from Vanadzor. I went to Vanadzor the same day; I go see investigator Dolmazyan, and it turns out that all the necessary documents were sent. Now we're waiting for the creation of the commission, which is very much in doubt — four times they said, 'next week'," he said.
Earlier, Barseghyan informed the Epress.am correspondent that the examination results obtained on Sept. 10 state that Lilit Nalbandyan has thromboembolism. According to Lilit's relatives, that's not true. In fact, they believe, the experts wanted to conceal doctors' unlawful actions and inaction.
