Armenian Lavash Manufacturer Might be Forced to Close Due to High Cost of Gas: Paper

Garni Suriki Lavash Production Enterprise has found itself in a very difficult situation because of high tariffs for electricity and gas, reports local daily Zhoghovurd.

Enterprise director Surik Hakobyan informed the newspaper that it's possible the company will soon close. Garni Surki Lavash has yet to pay Gazprom Armenia for the December gas bill.

"We're finding it difficult to pay. I'd never had such problems. If we continue this way, the plant will no longer be able to operate. We've been working at a loss for a few months now. On the other hand are the loans. The production plant will probably close," he said.

Hakobyan also said that he was forced to cut several jobs recently.
