Senior Lieutenant Harutyun Safaryan, 27, on March 31 was fatally wounded at a combat position stationed in the southern direction of the contact line between Karabakh and Azerbaijani troops.
According to the de facto Ministry of Defense in Nagorno-Karabakh, Safaryan died from a mine blast while on a combat mission. The ministry's press service reports that an investigation to uncover the details is underway.
Note, this is the fourth case of a death of a soldier in Karabakh in the last 12 days. On March 27, the ministry reported the death of soldier Arayik Papayan, 19, who, according to the official report, was killed while on a combat mission.
On March 24, Garnik Torosyan, 22, died from a gunshot wound.
On March 19, Arman Ghukasyan likewise received a fatal gunshot wound.
