Opposition Parties Will Hold Rally, Despite Armenian PM’s Resignation

Though the three-day rally organized by the four non-ruling parties (Heritage Party, Armenian National Congress, Prosperous Armenia Party, and Armenian Revolutionary Federation) set to begin on April 28 won't be taking place, there will be a joint rally, the date of which will be announced in the near future, Prosperous Armenia Party MP Stepan Margaryan (pictured) informed Epress.am today.

Margaryan said that discussed in today's meeting of the four parties were specific demands to be announced at the rally, which are still being clarified.

"We decided that in all cases we're keeping the format of the quartet, which is very important. We will continue to cooperate, [a sentiment shared by Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan] and depending on how the process of forming government will be, we will decide our actions accordingly. We had declared that we are cooperating not only around the government's resignation — our demand for resignation was around the government's work practice and philosophy. We place great importance on the practice and program that the future government will adopt, and depending on that, we will say what we're going to say and do," he said.

Margaryan also said his party is not discussing candidates for the position of prime minister, who officially resigned yesterday.
