The transaction by which Rule of Law (OEK) party acquired Yerevan TV occurred 3 months ago, reports local daily Hraparak. Note, the deal was made public only yesterday.
The now former owner of the TV company Varsham Darbinyan confirmed the news, saying: "This was not reported because of commercial considerations."
The newspaper reports that OEK party leader Artur Baghdasaryan acquired the TV company along with one of the members of influential Russian political circles.
"In fact, the news was kept secret until the clarification of the political arena and the OEK left the [ruling] coalition," concludes the newspaper.
