The Right to be Informed: Violations of the Law in Yerevan Residential Buildings

Residents of the Armenian capital are deprived of their right to be informed and to participate in making decisions about important aspects of their lives, according to a statement posted by members of a group on a Facebook page titled Yerevan in the Koma ("Yerevan is in a coma") . The page is a platform where every citizen can identify and reveal the concealed and controversial aspects of everyday reality.

The video below shows how advertising posters were placed over important information for residents of an apartment building. This act is widespread, as evidence by the reaction of Yerevan residents to the video. According to YouTube user Koma Yerevan who uploaded the video and the Facebook post, this video reminds residents how to claim their right to be informed.

It's important to note that this does not refer to the advertising boards placed in the elevators of residential buildings, for which the community receives money from the advertiser or a third party, which often does not effect, for example, the quality or operation of the elevators. Yerevan in the Koma has also addressed this issue.
