Contract Soldier Strangled His Wife to Death and Fled

At around 2 am on May 12, resident of the village of Itsakar in Tavush marz (province), contract soldier Meruzhan Harutyunyan, 33, came home and strangled his wife Hermine Chilingaryan, and in the morning he fled, Itsakar village mayor Aram Danielyan told Epress.am.

According to the village mayor, they learned of the incident in the morning, so they couldn't have done anything.

"They have three children: one boy, two girls. Probably the murder was committed on grounds of jealousy, since the family had problems this past month," h said.
