Azerbaijan believes that Armenia can join the Eurasian Economic Union within the framework of the borders with which it entered the World Trade Organization, said Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, reports RIA Novosti.
"We received a letter from the president of Azerbaijan that Armenia joined the WTO on the condition that the provisions should be extended to the territory of Armenia, within the scope of the country's international borders recognized by the UN, like in the WTO. This [is] for discussion," said Nazarbayev.
Armenia joined the WTO in 2003, becoming the organization's 145th member. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan earlier today said that Armenia intends to sign the Treaty establishing the Eurasian Economic Union by June 15 this year.
