Many people participated in the demonstrations protesting the construction of a high-rise residential building at 5 Komitas Avenue in Yerevan in August and September of last year: residents of neighboring buildings were joined by activists and members of various initiatives. Protestors blocked the street, didn't allow construction workers to enter the building site, and "seized" tractors and bulldozers. Nearly a year later, the building at 5 Komitas Avenue already has several floors built, and the public has forgotten about the problem. Recently, residents again tried to recall the problem, sending a letter to newly appointed RA Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, informing him that the building under construction blocks the light of neighboring buildings and the road leading to the yard, and the developer continues to violate the project, expanding the building on all sides.
Epress.am presents footage from last year's protests and the state of the construction today.
