Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has already become familiar with the 12 demands presented by the four non-ruling parties (Armenian National Congress, Prosperous Armenia Party, Heritage Party, and Armenian Revolutionary Federation). Sargsyan said this yesterday while a guest on the Public Television of Armenia TV program Hartsazruyts ("Interview").
"Those who drafted the document, in all likelihood, showed haste and allowed some linguistic shortcomings because if the goal is cooperation, then notions such as 'I demand,' 'I impose' and the like should be excluded from such a document.
"I am sure that the opposition is ready to cooperate, so that together we can solve the problems confronting our people," he said.
Sargsyan stressed that he has already instructed his party colleagues and the government to study the document carefully and divide it into several parts.
"The issues that our included in our program, we need to bring them forward and explain to the opposition where we've reached in these areas. Second, those issues that are related to constitutional reform must be discussed together with the authors and a common denominator reached. And third, those issues that in our team's opinion are not realistic must be explained to our opposition why they're not realistic and what consequences they may lead to if we solve the issues the way they are proposing. I am sure that as a result of a clash of opinion we will have very good decisions," he said.
