Armenian PM Promises Protesting Nairit Workers 1 Month’s Pay

Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan after yesterday's cabinet meeting met with protesting Nairit factory workers who are demanding their unpaid wages.

Abrahamyan informed them that they will receive one month's pay in the coming week and said the situation will be examined in detail before the end of August and possible steps to overcome the issue will be developed.

Note, workers at the local Nairit rubber factory have been working for no pay for 17 months and this is not the first time they have been promised a month's pay. They have been given one month's pay a few times after protesting; however, the situation has not changed.

Ahead of the meeting with the PM, a few of the protestors told Epress.am that they no longer believe the situation will change for the better.
