“Yerevan Beer” company (their main brand “Kilikia”) has applied to court against the Ministry of Finance. The company’s owner MP Hakob Hakobyan revealed the information to a journalist of “Haykakan Zhamanak” (Armenian Times) newspaper.
The newspaper reminds us that last week the Ministry of Finance released a statement indicating that the result of 12 tax inspections during a 10-day long period in September revealed there were duties worth 731 million AMD (1.78 million USD) owed toward the budget. The lion share among the duties belonged to “Yerevan Beer OJSC.” The factory was fined 653.6 million AMD (approximately 1.6 million USD) by the Ministry of Finance’s tax service.
“It’s remarkable, that recently there has been great interest around this factory, while in the media, they write that some people wish to take over “Kilikia” away from Hakob Hakobyan,” writes the paper.
Yesterday, when Haykakan Zhamanak asked the MP to comment on the topic, he answered; “The issue is at court, I don’t wish to comment, when the court process finishes that is when we will begin to talk. We have applied to the administrative court, to recognize approximately 640 million AMD of the 653.6 million AMD as invalid, the remaining 13 million AMD (31,000 USD) we accept.”
