No Military Parade on Independence Day in Yerevan: Haykakan Zhamanak

On September 21st, a military parade is not planned to take place during Armenian Independence Day ceremonies. Ministry of Defense spokesperson, Artsrun Hovhannisyan told a journalist from the local daily Haykakan Zhamanak about the latter news, during an interview: “No, it’s not planned. It’s not going to happen every year. Only on decennial or paired anniversaries”.

Some claim that a military parade should have been organized especially after the summer conflict on border. Hovhannisyan replied, “that would come out of the budget, and we plan such expenses in the beginning of the year.”
