The Armenian government has decided to initiate a visa-free regime for US citizens beginning from January 1, 2015. The decision was presented today during a cabinet meeting by Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandyan.
According to him, the removal of the entrance visa resulted from Armenian-American Intergovernmental Commission signing paragraph 28 of the Action Plan, which states that “the two parties will finalize the visa facilitation process, establishing visa-free regime for citizens of the United States, and allowing provision of multi-visas to citizens of the Republic of Armenia for the period of ten years.”
Nalbandyan also noted that beginning in January 1st, a wide segment of Armenian citizens will have the opportunity to obtain a US visa effective for ten years.
