Soldier Killed in Late Night Shootings Near Border, Another Injured

In the late night of January 20th – January 21st, at around 3AM, on the Nagorno Karabakh-Azerbaijan line of conflict towards the defense of Karvajar (Kelbajar) enemy intelligence saboteur attempts were made, reports NKR Ministry of Defense press service.

During the battles, Nahapet Asatryan (born 1982) was killed and Hovhannes Gasparyan (born 1973) was wounded.

“Armenian vanguard divisions located the enemy’s advance and threw them back to their positions with sustaining losses on their side,” said the statement. An investigation is taking place to determine further details.
