“Nairit” chemical plant will pay its employees' overdue wages by the end of this year, Prime Minister of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan said at the RA National Assembly on Wednesday, May 21.
"The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources has already said, and I now confirm that “Nairit” employees' back wages will be paid by the end of 2015,” Abrahamyan said.
The Prime Minsiter called the issue of "Nairit" deep and manifold and added that information on the fate of the plant will be available in late May or early June.
Note, employees of the largest chemical plant in Armenia are owed up to 24 months in back wages. Last week, they held a two-day sit-in in front of the government building demanding that the Prime Minister present a debt repayment schedule.
