Representatives of the Armenian Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross have recently conveyed a letter to the family of Armenian soldier Andranik Grigoryan who had crossed the border into Azerbaijan on March 22, Grigoryan's brother-in-law, Armen Harutyunyan, told Armlur.am. Andranik has written, Harutyunyan said, that everything is fine, and he cannot wait to be back home: “He's picked up painting there. They gave us a few photos of Andranik the previous time: he didn't look bad. It was evident, however, he's not himself; he looked sad and confused.”
The ICRC Yerevan office, the interviewee added, has kept in touch with them periodically over these months, informed them about Andranik's well-being; however, there is still no definite news about the soldier's return to Armenia: “They say there is hope; it just needs a little time. When he'll be sent back to Armenia is still unclear. If there was someone to exchange him with, the issue would be solved sooner, but there's no one.”
In all of his letters, the soldier's brother-in-law said, Andranik has written he wants to return to his homeland, and he does not remember or understand how he ended up in Azerbaijan.
