According to a survey conducted by the Helsinki Citizens' Assembly Vanadzor Office, 36.1% of Armenia's population support the country's membership into pro-Russian structures, while 24.3% of respondents spoke in favour of a pro-European approach. The study was conducted in 2015 on a sample of 1200 randomly selected citizens aged 18 and older.
12.6% of respondents believe that Armenia should join both pro-Russian (Eurasian Economic Union) and pro-European (European Union) structures; 8.3% are convinced the country should join neither the EEU nor the EU. 18.2% of respondents were undecided, while 0.6% refused to answer the question.
A similar study conducted by “Leading Group of Social Research” NGO in 2014 had revealed an almost identical result: 38.4% and 24.8 % of respondents supported Armenia's membership into the EEU and the EU, respectively. 11.8% said they wanted Armenia to join both the unions, while 10.1% didn't want to see Armenia in either of the structures.
