May 17, the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHOT), was marked in the Armenian capital of Yerevan with a dance performance entitled "I am on you, you are on me."
The event was hosted by local non-profit organization Public Information and Need of Knowledge (PINK Armenia) and was accompanied by the following message:
Love is unprotected on a street,
love is fragile at home,
when there is no love.
The performance received mostly negative feedback from passers-by who were quick to call the dancers “immoral” and accuse them of “mindless idiocy.” Some even alleged that “they are just doing this to receive money from Europe,” while a young man quickly ushered her female friend away, telling her not to look at “such things.”
