Authorities have spent millions of drams on the construction and finishing of the Armenian Investigative Committee's new building; however, it has already started collapsing, or rather, denuding following the high winds that occurred in Yerevan on May 23, Zhoghovurd daily reports.
“Although this building did not need a facing – it was already lined with pink tuff – authorities spent 57,6 million drams last September to revet the Committee building with a special layer. And yesterday's intense wind tore and destroyed a large part of the building facing, literally throwing the state budget money to the wind.
“Note, the Investigative Committee building was constructed and furnished by 'AGAT 777' company, which has alleged links to Committee head Aghvan Hovsepyan. According to official documents, of course, the company has no connection with Hovsepyan's family; however, there are rumors that 'AGAT 777' does indeed belong to the Hovsepyans, and hence it manages to win numerous public tenders,” Zhoghovurd writes.
