As of 1:30 am, most of the demonstrators had left the Khorenatsi street. They have agreed to gather again on Freedom Square at 8 pm Thursday.
12:25 am At around 12:15 am, a police representative, lieutenant Ayvazyan, told the demonstrators that all of the detainees, with the exception of one or two people, have already been released.
The protesters responded that they had other demands too, among them the resignation of president Serzh Sargsyan and reunion with the members of "Daredevils of Sasun." They also demanded that police ensured the peaceful conduct of their demonstration and did not "send in provocateurs."
12:05 am Several thousand sympathizers of the “Daredevils of Sasun” gathered Wednesday evening on Yerevan’s Freedom Square and soon decided to march to the Khorenatsi street leading to the police station seized by the armed group.
Upon reaching the destination, one of the protest leaders announced that the demonstrators’ intentions were exclusively peaceful and that they had only come to the street to stand by “our brothers.” Shortly after, the speaker declared that they were giving authorities until 12:30 am to release the hundreds of citizens who were detained from the territory throughout the day.
Note, the area is cordoned off by police officers in full riot gear; there is a water cannon behind the law enforcement officers.
