The group of women who had gathered in front of the building of Armenia’s Judicial Acts Compulsory Enforcement Service (JACES) on Tuesday to demand that judicial executors implement the child custody verdicts in their favour and finally make sure that their kids are transferred to their care went to the JACES office again today to get the responses to the written appeals they were asked to submit the day before. They protesting mothers, however, were instead invited for a private conversation with Gagik Mirijanyan, the head of the service's Inspection and Analytical Department.
Speaking to reporters after a 3-hour conversation at Mirijanyan's office, protester Armine Avoyan said that the official had promised to resolve the issue and make sure that her kid was returned to her within the next 2 days. “He initially said they'd provide me with visitations, but I refused and said that I needed them to carry out the court order and pass my kid to my care. They promised they would, but I can't be sure until my child is finally by my side.”
The other mothers told reporters that Mirijanyan had assured them that JACES officials were taking care of their cases. The women, however, announced that Mirijanyan's promises were not good enough for them and that they intended to continue their protest action outside the Government offices on Thursday.
