26-year-old contract serviceman Gor Khudinyan died at around 1 am on February 23 in the defense position of a northern military unit of the Nagorno-Karabakh defense army, an official statement issued today by Armenia’s Investigative Committee said.
According to the statement, the soldier received a fatal injury when a bullet exploded inside the muzzle of the machine gun he was using to fight back fire coming from the Azerbaijani side. A criminal case has been launched into the incident under Article 376.2 of Armenia’s criminal code (negligent attitude to service which negligently caused grave consequences.”
