Armen Tovmasyan, an employee of the Akhuryan sugar factory who was killed on the job on June 3, was a native of the Shirak province Aygabats village and used to live in dire conditions in a mobile home with his wife and two minor children, Tovmasyan’s aunt, Mrs Hasmik, said in conversation with Epress.am.
According to the woman, Tovmasyan worked at the sugar factory for many years; his job involved unloading supplies off trucks and freight cars. “We don’t know the exact circumstances of Armen’s death; we’ve only been told that he fell off a freight car while on the job,” Mrs Hasmik said.
The woman added that factory management representatives have yet to visit Tovmasyan’s family and offer any help or support; “They live in extremely dire conditions; Armen was the only earner in the family. The kids are 12 and 6; the youngest is supposed to start school this fall.”
Note, the Akhuryan sugar factory belongs to the family of a Republican Party MP, oligarch Samvel Aleksanyan’s family.
