A member of the opposition Yerkir Tsirani faction, Marine Khachatryan, was on Tuesday subjected to physical violence in the Council of Elders of Yerevan by members of Armenia’s ruling Republican Party, Hraparak.am reports.
The situation escalated after Khachatryan tried to carry waste from the sewage waters of Yerevan’s Nubarashen prison to the table of Yerevan mayor Taron Margaryan. The Republicans first blocked Khachatryan’s path, and then hit every time she tried to go around them.

Note, residents of a number of apartments blocks close to the Nubarashen prison on Monday temporarily blocked the road to the prison, protesting against the foul stench of sewage in the neighborhood. They demanded that the authorities take measure to eliminate the problem, threatening otherwise to block the road again.
