PACE President Mevlüt Çavusoglu succeeded in creating a subcommittee which can never have a positive role in resolving the Karabakh-Azerbaijan conflict, because both Armenia and the co-chair countries have numerously stated that apart from the Minsk Group format, all other formats will harm the peace talks and peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, said Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) press spokesperson Eduard Sharmazanov at a press conference in Yerevan today, referring to the latest developments in the Armenian foreign affairs.
“In this sense, the Republic of Armenia’s position is clear. Turkey can never have a place as a mediator in the Karabakh-Azerbaijan conflict, and Turkey’s efforts, to enter into this conflict as a mediator, will fail because Armenia and the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh will never allow that,” he said.
The HHK member of parliament emphasized the precedence of South Sudan for resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and noted that the positive outcome of the referendum for independence, according to Sharmazanov, showed that the right to self-determination continues to triumph in the world.
“Whether Azerbaijan or Turkey like it or not, the triumph continues and that, of course, can set a precedence for a fair solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” he said.
