Local daily Haykakan Jamanak (“Armenian Times”) directed a question at RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan at the National Assembly yesterday: “Can you say whether opposition representatives will be released by May 28?”
“I can’t say,” responded the prime minister. Speaking to the newspaper’s reporter, he also refused to comment on second president of Armenia Robert Kocharian’s recent interview with Mediamax news agency. “I think you interpret the second president’s statement in your own way, and that’s why I’ll refrain from commenting,” he said, reports Haykakan Jamanak.
Tigran Sargsyan also touched upon the administration’s attitude toward the opposition bloc the Armenian National Congress. “We display a very respectful attitude toward any proposal or announcement by the opposition, because that is their right and they carry this out under the rules of the political struggle,” he said.
