HAK Provided Opportunity for Azerbaijan to Present its UN Resolution: Babukhanyan

Armenian authorities were able to manage it so that at least the first stage was cancelled, said Constitutional Rights Union (CIM) political party chair Haik Babukhanyan, speaking about the UN draft resolution put forth by Azerbaijan.

According to him, it’s only when a unified political, state field is developed in Armenia that it’s possible to achieve success.

“Unlike in March 2008, when we had a very complex situation in Armenia, Azerbaijan took advantage of that period and was able to make it so that the UN passed a resolution, to Armenia’s detriment,” said the CIM chair.

In Babukhanyan’s opinion, at that time it was revealed that some political powers were the fifth column (a group of people who undermine a nation from within by helping an external enemy): “That is, HAK, Levon Ter-Petrosyan became active during that time when an opportunity had to be provided for Azerbaijan to pass its resolution at the UN,” he said.

Speaking on the draft resolution presented by HAK today, Babukhanyan stressed that “the Congress, sometimes, not having its own ideology, repeats certain expressions from here and there and attempts to present those as a tenet of their

program.”

In reality, he continued, stimulating Armenia’s activities has been repeatedly spoken of.

“The only program, which Levon Ter-Petrosyan has presented lately, is his well-known project, in which Armenia should surrender before Azerbaijan and Turkey,” said Babukhanyan, adding that this political party, with its activities, serves “foreign interests.”
