The weather in Armenia in February was favorable in all respects, said head of the operative hydrometeorological center at the Armenian Hydrometeorology and Monitoring State Service Zaruhi Petrosyan, speaking to journalists in Yerevan today.
Speaking about the weather in the coming days, Petrosyan said there will be lows of 0 to -2 degrees Celsius and highs of +10 degrees in the Ararat valley.
“Tonight will be 2 degrees below zero, while in the coming three nights, the temperature will be at least -4 to -6 degrees Celsius, while in the afternoon it’ll be +10, +11 degrees. On Mar. 6 and 7, the temperature in the afternoon will rise by 5–7 degrees. On the 18th, the temperature in Yerevan will reach +10 to +14, while in the Syunik valleys, it’ll be +15. On Mar. 8, it’ll be cloudy and drizzling rain is not ruled out,” she said.
Petrosyan noted that their analyses over the past 10 years shows that there hasn’t been serious precipitation on Mar. 8. She added, the coldest Mar. 8 was in 1985, when the temperature dropped 18 degrees below zero.
The meteorologist also noted that spring has already come to the Ararat valley, while spring will arrive in Gyumri mid-March and at the end of March for mountain regions.
