Yerevan Deputy Police Chief Violated MP Brother’s Presumption of Innocence

Yerevan’s deputy police chief Robert Melkonyan has violated MP Zaruhi Postanjyan’s brother Tigran Postanjyan’s presumption of innocence, attorney Yervand Varosyan told Epress.am today.

Yesterday, host of the Kentron (“Center”) TV station’s Urvagits (“Outline”) program Petros Ghazaryan had invited Melkonyan to be a guest on the show. The deputy police chief, speaking of Zaruhi Postanjyan, said, “Who forced her brother to engage in bribery?”

“Melkonyan called him [Tigran Postanjyan] a bribe-taker when there is no legally enforced final verdict,” said Varosyan.
