Chair of Armenia’s National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan recently opened a fan page on Facebook, which is regularly updated and “liked” by 466 people as of this publication.
On his status update Wednesday, Abrahamyan issued a few words of support (in Armenian) for 2009 World Champion in weightlifting, Armenian athlete Nazik Avdalyan, who was in a car accident earlier this week:
“Dear Nazik, stay strong, be confident that you will overcome all difficulties. I, along with your many fans, together support and believe in you. You have repeatedly shown that you can put up a fight and come out a winner in even the most difficult situations. I wish you a speedy recovery. We have yet to see your new victories.”
Note, visiting Nazik (as well as fellow injured weightlifter Yuri Vardanyan) in the hospital yesterday were parliamentary vice-chair, Prosperous Armenia vice-chair Samvel Balasanyan and Bishop Mikael Ajapahyan, Primate of the Shirak Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
Balasanyan and Father Ajapahyan wished the Gyumri-born athletes a speedy recovery, as well as offering their support.
