Opera Software ASA has analyzed traffic on the Opera Mini web browser to understand how intensely cell phone users in CIS countries communicate in social networks in its latest April 2011 State of the Mobile Web report.
The top 10 countries according to number of Opera Mini users in the CIS are Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Moldova, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan.
According to the report, from April 2010 to April 2011, page views in the top 10 countries of the CIS increased by 198%, unique users increased by 65% and data transferred increased by 176%.
Armenia leads the top 10 countries of the region in page views per user, with each user browsing 1,347 pages on average each month.
Among the CIS countries, the most popular sites include Vkontacte, Yandex, Odnoklassniki.ru, Google and Mail.ru.
Opera Software also looked at the top 10 handsets used in each of the top 10 CIS countries. Out of the 100 total handsets listed, 86 of them were Nokia, 6 were Sony Ericsson, 6 were Samsung and 2 were Apple.
